Wiki Project

For my wiki project I think I did best on the paragraph about the impacts of the crusades on King Richard I. I think that if we were to do this again I would try to add more color, pictures, and other things like that in order to make my page look better at fist glance. I liked using diigo because it is a lot easier to take notes by simply highlighting instead of writing it down on paper. It was also nice to be able to use wiki because typing out paragraghs is easier than writing an esssay and takes much less time.
Muhammad Book

For this posting, I want you to think back to the work that you’ve done on your Muhammad book. Please comment on the process as well as the product. What did you do well and what would you change? What did you learn about Muhammad’s influenc e on the people of the Arabian Peninsula? Finally, which method of assessment do you prefer, chapter quizzes or projects like this? Which one do you think you learn more from? Why?
I do not think the Muhammad book was very hard to do. Compared to the church poem and the maps it seemed somewhat easy. To make my Muhammad book, I typed out my summaries that I used in the rough draft. Then I cut out strips of purple paper and pasted them onto my green construction paper. I think that I actually prefer doing tests instead of projects because at least for tests you can study because you have an idea about what will be on the test. The projects however are always a surprise and thus seenm to take much longer.
Time Travel

If you are planning to move to or visit the Arabian Penisula you shold probably know some survival tips for the different environments. The four environments that the arabian Penisula contains are deserts, oases, coastal plains, and mountains. If you are planning to go to the desert you will definately want to wear loose, baggy clothes that will protect you from the heat. You should also wear a headress to protect your face and neck from the heat, dust, and flies. You should probably also use camels to carry your heavy things as they can go days without water (which means you will not have to waste your precious water on them).

This past week I have learned about Medieval crime and punishment, citing souces, posing questions, and summarizing. These are all very helpful skills and I am sure that I will use them a lot in my life.
Unfair Rules

There are a couple rules that I think are unfair but the two I understand the least are that our shirts must cover our shoulders and that we cannot wear pajama pants. I do not understand the shirt rule because for most schools the rule is that your shirt sleeve must be at least three fingers wide. The other rule I don’t understand is the rule that we cannot wear pj pants to school because they are actually very much like sweat pants. In fact, many times sweat pants look a lot like pajama pants. If I wanted to chnage these rules I would probably try to get as many people as possible to sign a petition. If I got a fairly large amount of signatures I would bring it to the principal to see if he would change these rules.

Answers
1. I think I did best at the actual poem and rhyming it. The poem turned out exactly as I wanted it to andI would not change any thing about it.I am glad that we got to do a poem because that is one of the things I am best at writing.
2. If I got the chance to do it over again I would probably put in more pictures. I would also not have put the gargoyal at the bottom, I would have put something more related to the theme instead.
3. The most helpful teaching tool was the word bank because it gave me good words that I could easily use as a plot for my poem.
4. I want Mr. t to know that I really liked doing this poem.
